Rated 4 out of 5 by Urizen from New KitchenAid Blender (KSB655) Collar Won’t Seat That’s because the plastic piece on the bottom of the collar is preventing it from seating fully. Try this: Hold the collar right side up. Note the half inch holes on either side of the inside of the collar. See the tab sticking up in that hole? There is one on each side. In order for the plastic piece underneath to properly retract when placing the collar on the blender base, those tabs needs to be pushed to the right of the hole. I suspect this is to ensure that the blender jar is properly seated against the gasket that fits between the jar and the collar. Recall that it takes “two clicks” to accomplish this. Our new collar arrived with these tabs centered rather than moved to the right. Once fixed, and even still using the old gasket, that second click took two of us to accomplish, so persist.

Rated 1 out of 5 by smmilne from Replacement Part Stopped Working I bought this part after the original broke. The replacement worked when we tried it 3 months ago. My wife didn't use it for a while after that. Now it won't seat itself on the blender properly, so it can't be used. It won't slide all the way down, so it is too high to engage the drive shaft. I tried everything (I am an engineer), but couldn't resolve the issue or identify a cause.
