Rated 5 out of 5 by Basl from Best mixer ever I bought two paddles about a year ago and yes they started chipping so I got online a little while ago to write a negative review. For some reason I started reading reviews and read the one about adjusting the height and it hit me that was the problem. So I got my mixer out and began looking for how to change the height. It is in the neck that rocks for paddle removal. It screws both directions so play with it to get the height right. The height is right when the paddle moves without hitting the bowl. Thank you everyone for writing reviews, they really help. So these paddles are great .

I am hesitant to buy this one because everyone says it's poor quality or doesn't fit their mixer. What are we consumers supposed to do? This is crazy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by laurenpie from mine didn't chip until.. try adjusting the beater's height? I've used my coated flat beater, literally, for 36 years before it chipped. That's 36 years of constant use, several times a week, efficiently scraping the lower curves of the bowl. However, I've recently moved from San Diego to Oregon, and when I put by mixer back together, I didn't realize the height or tilt adjustment was off.. it was hitting the bottom. Eventually did chip. So, for those of you concerned about purchasing this attachment due to the other reviews.. perhaps double-checking the beater height (i.e., the mixer head tilt adjustment) before first use would preclude the chipping issue.
