I have KitchenAid Model KSM90, an older model I have had for many years and never had to replace my flat beater as yet, until now. I just noticed after baking Christmas cookies that the beater has a chip and now I don't want to use it. I always hand wash the beater, never in dishwasher. After reading the reviews on the same accessory, I want to know whether or not there is a replacement of the same beater or would any of your newer beaters (i.e., stainless steel or beater with scraper) be compatible with my model? I do not want nor need to buy a new mixer. I wouldn't do without this machine and would recommend the KitchenAid mixer -- except for the problem with the coated flat beater!

It has started to chip and I am afraid if i use it the white stuff will end up in my food. I had to order a new beater that I have not gotten yet. Hopefully it will last

I came to the KitchenAid site to find out how to replace my flat beater. I was surprised to see others have the same problem with the coating on the beater chipping off. Everything about the mixer is great, but I was surprised and not happy when I found some of the coating in my cookie dough!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Janicesue1 from Nylon wore off the beater. I love my KitchenAide mixer. The Only issue is the beater. I would like to purchase a beater without the nylon coating. When I use it like it is, I am always afraid it will come off in what I am beating. Also with it peeling like it is I have a fear of what is in the places that are peeled off and did I get everything that was there.

I know a lot of people have had this exact same problem. Im disappointed about it chipping, but at least I know it can be replaced and hopefully this new one won't chip.
