With the new pastry attachment, I can cream butter straight from the freezer in my creations. It's made of heavy steel coated with a white product that keeps dough from sticking. I love this product.

Although it is made for pastries it can be used in a wide variety of applications and does all the hard work for you. It will give you that nice flaky crust without tiring your arms out. Me and this beater will be working happily together for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HappyKitchen84 from Such a time saver! I had very low expectations, but I gave it a chance and I will never make pie dough with a pastry blender by hand again. This gets it done fast so the butter doesn't have time to start melting. It also keeps my hands completely out of it, which also prevents melting and confines the entire mess to the bowl. The scraper it comes with fits perfectly into the spaces in the beater attachment. I switch to the flat beater to gently combine everything when I add the water. Five minutes for the whole thing and that is awesome. I end up with the exact same flaky crust I get when I do it by hand. I wish I had this when my daughter was a baby a few years ago. I could seriously make a pie with a baby in my arms. My foremothers would have really appreciated this kind of convenience. I'll teach my daughter how to make things by hand so that she knows how...and then I'll show her why the Kitchenaid is better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Faymom from Surprisingly good! I was skeptical when I purchased this. So used to making pastry by hand. Yesterday I make simple pie crust and it was just as advertised. The shortening blended into the flour perfectly. Could not ask for better. Being dishwasher safe is a great bonus. I would highly recommend.

Easy to use and mixes my dough easily and keep all the ingredients mixed! I have used the beater the it comes with and doesn’t work like this one. Overall I’m very happy with this product.

I make all my own gluten free pastries, and this makes the whole process so easy. I used to hand mix the cut butter into the flour mix, or sometimes use the flat beater, but not any more!
