I bought a second set to have more available and because I was worried that the flavored pucks might leave a smell in the plastic. No smells! I’ve tried lemon juice, mint simple syrup, sweetened latte, and milk all with no residual smell (unlike my silicone ice cube trays). For plain water, use 180 grams and your puck won’t bulge. One note: I was making plenty of water pucks to have available and putting them in plastic freezer bags. This was handy, until we had a high-use freezer day and pucks melted together. I’m going to find a way to store in single layers, with maybe parchment or something in between.

Rated 2 out of 5 by KatjaM from They work but they warp Annoyingly the Shaved Ice accessory requires the ice pucks to have the specific cross shape from these molds. I understand why Kitchenaid would want proprietary ice shape to work with the shaved ice attachment, but these molds sometimes warp when they freeze and they the ice puck doesn't work. It's frustrating to be limited on how much shaved ice I can make based on these molds. I purchased a second set, because my family went through the shaved ice too fast to only be able to make 4 molds worth and have to wait 24 hours to make more. It's hot down here.
