Rated 5 out of 5 by lmillwo from Love It I have the classic stand mixer and love it! For the past two years, I bake 200+ cookies every Saturday and never have had any problems. I am replacing my wire whip attachment because one of the wires has become unattached. Most likely to my using it to mix things that perhaps the paddle is more appropriate. For all of you complaining about oxidation on the whip attachment. How about actually washing it BY HAND. I have never put my attachments in the dishwasher and have had my mixer for over six years and NO OXIDATION. HMMMM. Imagine that? Washing an attachment by hand! Highly recommend any KitchenAid appliance (well small appliance as I have never purchased a major appliance of this brand).

Rated 3 out of 5 by mamalade from Black Smudging I see many have had this same issue with oxidation. Why would something used for baking NOT be suited for the dishwasher? This seems a bit silly given how messy this activity can be. Is there a way to fix this and/or is there an updated version of the whisk that doesn't leave black residue?

The black comes off on my hands and the food being mixed. This is just not acceptable. Come on Kitchen Aide...don't give us the same standard computer remark. Fix the problem. Get it stainless. This is just not quality, on a quality machine. You should give everyone a free stainless or white coated one, if they complain.
