Rated 5 out of 5 by PapaRB from 10+ Plus Years of Incredible Tomato Sauce We started making tomato sauce using this Fruit & Vegetable Strainer in 2007 and since then have canned several hundred quarts of delicious thick sauce. I do run the pulp thru again and get quite a bit more juice from it. It seemed like an obvious thing to do. I wore out a Professional 5 Stand mixer and replaced it with a Pro 5 Plus which has steel gears. However 1 problem. The o-ring on the shaft wore out and I'm not able to identify the correct replacement size. As a result, juice leaks back into the motor I have to take the top off the stand and clean out the tomato schmutz before I put it away after a canning run. (BTW, good design for the drainage inside the motor) Can you help with the o-ring info?

It makes short work of the bushels of tomatoes we harvest every year & applesauce is a breeze. Only had an issue with clogging once & that was my fault for jamming some garlic necks in it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Square footer from Worked as advertised, very simple and efficient Just used this to strain a small batch of tomatoes. My garden isn't large enough to get enough tomatoes all at once, so I strain and freeze until there's enough to can a few quarts. It took longer to set up than it did to do the straining. Cleanup was a breeze. Those who say it's tough to clean, dont let it set. A stream of water and a small bottle brush does the trick. Looking forward to trying it with applesauce.

I inherited mine from my grandmother, we have used it every year for at least 10 years to can 30+ Qtrs. of tomato sauce and 200+ Pts. of apple sauce. I run everything through at least twice, you do have to disassemble it and clean it about every half bushel but at that point I need a break any way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chuck from The Best Attachment EVER!!! I've used this attachment for years to make jellies. I don't even hull strawberries anymore. Wash them and throw them in! Cherries? No problem. Pull the stems, pit them, and throw them in. And I send them through twice! I make Balsamic strawberry and cherry jam for the whole family. Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, they all go through. If you can jellies and jams and you own a Kitchenaid, this is a "must have" attachment!
