Rated 5 out of 5 by Mfp6199 from Superb performer I admit to being a coffee purist. Probably my recent purchase of a commercial coffee roaster would bear this out. The roaster provides me with amazing finished beans from all over the world. Early in my coffee journey, I learned that great coffee beans are useless without a proper grind. I tried several coffee grinders, only to end up with irregular sized grounds that were full of static electricity. But over twenty years ago, I discovered the brilliantly designed, quality built, KitchenAid ProLine grinder. Such a performer!! It produces even sized grounds, with no static electricity. At around year 17, I replaced the burrs. That’s been the only maintenance I’ve performed on this flawless machine. And the delicious coffee I’ve enjoyed over twenty years would have been far less enjoyable had I not found this machine. Needless to say, I recommend the KitchenAid ProLine coffee grinder wholeheartedly!

I bought the grinder 20 years ago, had some issues with bean bridging (wouldn't feed up top) with the original design so KitchenAid replaced it under warranty. I've used my grinder almost daily for 18 years. I had some issues with static making fine grounds difficult to fall cleanly into the receiver bowl. I now use an eye dropper with water (reverse osmosis) and drop 2 drops into the feed throat of the grinder before I put the beans in and an additional 1 to 2 drops depending on amount of beans I'm grinding. 18-20 grams of beans = 3 drops, 24-30 grams = 4 drops. I weigh out the beans before each grind so I don't keep beans in the hopper, allowing me to do the water drop thing. This has eliminated all static problems for me over the years (probably been doing this 10 years now). The grinder is powerful and grinds pretty uniformly, especially with finer grinds. Even though my unit was a redesign from the original, it still has some issues with the beans not feeding completely into the throat without me grabbing the grinder by the sides and shaking it while grinding! The unit has a flat burr design for whatever that's worth. I'm going to be critical and taking one star off for the fact that I have to shake the unit to get all beans to feed. KitchenAid customer support was extremely helpful and customer oriented when I had to deal with the original unit 18 years ago. I hope they are as great now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by VenturaJohn from Best I could find I use burr grinders for their consistency of grind. This is the best of three I have had. It is as close you can get for a home grinder as the more professional versions. Two minor thoughts is the glass catch jar is slightly cumbersome to extract the coffee, so I use a measuring cup instead. And, it still has a chute for the coffee to exit the grinder, I had hoped it would drop straight through. Other than those two issues, it is quiet, consistent, easy to clean. I have drank coffee since the 5th grade, so I like the beverage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jayson from Tank grinder This is the tank of grinders & a fantastic one at that. I done a ton of research for a grinder that would actually do as it says. This grinder is heavy and built like the good stuff of the far past that is still working today. The consistency of the grounds are spot on in every mode I've tried this far. I read reviews of static, with the gas bowl that this comes with I've yet to experience that. I don't have one negative comment about this beast. Simply exceeded my expectations at a great price. Thankyou kitchenaid!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rooster022 from Still the best, no doubt about it. I have been using this grinder now for about 11 years. The only issue was the small plastic retainer, (nozzle holder), between the grinder and the receiver bowl. I replaced it and have been grinding daily right along. I purchased a new set of burrs and a replacement bowl about 3-5 years ago but have yet to replace anything except the broken plastic bowl cap. Can't say enough good things about this grinder. Like many, if it broke today I'd order another right away without a thought. I sure hope they are building them just the same. The only thing giving me a bit of pause are the 4 rubber feet which seem to be loosing some of their resiliency, I have been attempting to come up with another design which would give more cushion but have not yet been able to come up with one. Maybe these have just worn out, but the grinder keeps on going. Anyway, as I say, there is none better on the market at any price outside of ridiculous. Best addition for a coffee lover you will ever make. And, once again, no one gave me or promised me any coercion for my report. I just feel so strongly I wanted to add an update to my previous review a year ago. Rooster403
