The display that indicates what temperature the water is currently at is awesome; it allows me to time what I'm doing (usually making coffee—grinding beans, making sure the French Press is clean, sometimes making other breakfast items). I never rave about products, but I bought the Cuisinart version that the Times recommended (without the display) for another family, and I really didn't like how I just never had any idea of how long it would take before the water was ready I'm not sure what happened with the other reviewer's product here. I can only speak for myself, but I use my kettle constantly—sometimes more than once a day, and I've never had an issue with this thing breaking down. I've used it for years. As warnings, I have heard that some people are frustrated about switching to Fahrenheit (I usually go to 100 degrees Celsius for water, so I don't bother changing), and this doesn't have a timer or anything, if that's what you're looking for. But I can't recommend it enough. It just does what it's supposed to.

However, the lid stopped working after one year (right after its warranty is expired), the handle fall off in two years. It is really sad, as I love the brand, the design, the kettle doesn't have any plastic smell, and it looks cool together with all my other empire red Kitchenaid appliances — mixer, blender, coffee maker and coffee grinder. Kitchenaid, please improve the assembling quality!

Rated 1 out of 5 by EEMCD from Short life I loved this kettle when I first bought it. It heated water quickly, had automatic shutoff, and basically did everything I wanted. In under a year my first one stopped working. I contacted customer support and they got me a replacement and within 2 weeks that also stopped working. Im very disappointed because I loved this kettle. I must say that customer support was fantastic and worked hard to satisfy me.
