The slow start keeps ingredients from flying out of the bowl. The mixing quality is excellent and it really keeps its charge. I don't use it all the time, but I have had if for just over 2 months and am still on the initial charge. The beaters work well and the mixer is much quieter than other hand mixers I've owned in the past. I didn't think I needed a hand mixer, as I own multiple KitchenAid stand mixers, but for the small jobs, this mixer does the trick and does it very well. I am very pleased with my purchase and definitely recommend it highly.

So when my corded hand mixer died, I bought the corded Kitchenaid hand mixer. I loved how it preformed, however I was at the point where the cord always seemed to be in the way, so when I saw that Kitchenaid had a cordless hand mixer I bought it. It is awesome. It stays charged a long time, however when I need to recharge it, it takes almost no time to recharge it. It has so much speed and such a great mixing ability, I LOVE IT!
