HOW TO MAKE AN ESPRESSO MARTINI
Level up your night with a rich and indulgent drink: the espresso martini. This creamy mix of coffee liqueur, vodka and espresso is sure to wake you right up! This popular drink was created in the ‘80s and quickly became a go-to cocktail for those looking for a delicious and indulgent drink.
With the right ingredients and tools, you can make your own espresso martini in the comfort of your home.
CAN I MAKE ESPRESSO COCKTAILS WITHOUT AN ESPRESSO MACHINE?
It’s not necessary to use an espresso machine for espresso cocktails, although it is the preferred method. You can make an espresso martini without an espresso machine using cold brew or drip coffee. Cold brew coffee yields a strong coffee concentrate that can be a substitute for espresso. If you’re looking for a milder flavor and a drink that is not as strong, try using brewed coffee. STEP 1: CHILL DRINKING GLASSES
Begin by chilling your glasses of choice. This will keep your espresso martini cool without using ice cubes that may water down your drink. You can chill your glasses by filling them with ice water or by placing the glasses into the freezer.
STEP 2: BREW THE ESPRESSO
Use your espresso machine to brew fresh espresso. You can let the espresso cool slightly before using the cocktail shaker to shake the espresso with ice.
STEP 3: COMBINE THE INGREDIENTS
Fill a cocktail shaker with vodka, coffee liquor, espresso, creme de cacao and ice. Shake the cocktail shaker until your drink is chilled and frothy, usually around 20 seconds.
STEP 4: STRAIN INTO GLASSES
Use a strainer to pour the espresso martini into your glasses, while holding back the ice.
STEP 5: GARNISH WITH COFFEE BEANS (OPTIONAL)
Finish the look by garnishing your espresso martini with coffee beans.
